drawings

Drawings are an essential component to a pre- stage in my artistic process, in which ideas and visual intrest is collected intuitively, to later be transformed or serialized. What might look like abstract lines, often is a precise tracking of previously magnified motives and small and everyday patterns like crumbs, scratches or soil, that does not differentiate between fore- and background, light or dark, or the actual object vs image artifacts or shadows. Instead they translate every texture and visual input of intrest into a line. They either in exist as part of a series, like ‘how many stones until...’ that visualize their aptitude as a tool for emotional regulation, or remain by themselves as is, while few are selected to become the basis of a wall drawing or transported into the context of a larger installation.

The drawings are mostly captured in a5 blank notebookes in archival ink, with some also on a4 sheets of transparent paper.
The following drawings are a small, digitally scanned selection presented without chronological order, from a large number of drawings, that all remain untitled.
