Sowas wie Sie machen wir hier nicht (We don‘t do something like you around here) is a direct quote from a thueringian medical practitioner when asked about trans* healthcare by the artist. For the exhibition Unmonumental Moments at Jenaer Kunstveriein, these words pierce into the stairwell space through the window as part of the site-specific installation that deals with questions of identity and society, the manifestations of which can bring about injuries. Paired with a blood-red wall drawing based on a picture of a magnified wound, visitors are left with vague feelings of othering and discomfort.
