The Questionnaire III - gaslight, gatekeep, hope labour

2024

31 posters, digital print
42 x 29,7 cm
Edition of 12 + 3 AP each

The third installment of The Questionnaire is a 31 question screening tool, giving the role of the examiner to the inner saboteurs, capitalists, and art world self-gaslighters.

Borrowing from the process of psychiatric diagnosis, it encapsules neoliberal narratives about solo careers, competition and success into a screening tool that is set on ignoring all evidence of systemic discrimination, labour conditions or the possibility for solidarity in its pursuit to blame you for all your problems - or successes - in the art world.

It was first shown at gr_und project room in collaboration with Netzwerk freier Berliner Projekträume and NeunKelche as part of a workshop for art workers in 2024 and exhibited again at Kommunale Galerie Basement in 2025. Additionally, the full work, including a german translation, was also projected in public from a decomissioned traffic observatory (Verkahrskanzel) at Kudamm, Berlin, each night for several weeks as part of the same exhibition.
