Imagining a future without artists
2025
Galerie Parterre & Kommunale Galerien Berlin
question and microscopic photo of a small wound
with a text by Björn Brolewski and Lena Prents
A1 & variably sized posters
This poster was comissioned to comment on the suspension of the Exhibition Remuneration Fund for Visual Artists (FABiK) in 2025 in Berlin and is part of a four part poster series feauturing the artists Felix Deiters, Kallirroi Ioannidou, Johannes Mundinger and Marina Naprushkina. They demand the re-instatement of the fund and to ensure fair payment of artistic labour. Budget Cut (2025) asks passerbys directly imagine a future without artist, but to also ponder the motives of the politicians in charge of Berlin’s public cultural funding.
The posters were installed in front of Galerie Parterre on March 28 in a performative action by artist Michael Wismar from Litfass Goes Urban Art and further distributed amongst other communal galleries and visitors.
